I’ve been there…
Burnt out, exhausted, busting my ass and never getting closer to my body goals. Hopping from plan to plan, diet to diet, low carb, no carb, HIIT, spin, boxing, weights, running. I would see initial results, quickly plateau and move on to the next thing. Not understanding what I was doing wrong. I tracked my macros, spent hours in the weight room, regularly upped my cardio, barely ate carbs and yet, I would continue to feel worse about how I looked & felt. It was this constant cycle of eating well most of the time, binge eating hard AF on the reg and then restarting the process over again.
I was extremely frustrated putting in the work yet having nothing to show, wondering why nothing worked for me and wishing I could find something that got me the results I thought I needed. I was tied to the scale, weighing myself every morning, taking pictures of my body obsessively comparing them to see if I had made any changes. As a fitness professional, I felt like a stranger in my own skin. I was supposed to practice what I preach and be the one setting the example yet I just couldn’t seem to get my shit together. I finally hit rock bottom two years ago and everything shifted…
Here’s a lil TBT to put it into prospective:
I was doing all the things I THOUGHT you were supposed to do in order to shed fat: Low to no carbs, fasted cardio, hours in the weight room, #nodaysoff.. before I knew it, I had thrown my hormones off balance, slowed my metabolism and found myself gaining weight faster than I could comprehend.
That’s how my approach to health and fitness came to life. I needed to be free from the restrictive diets & training plans.
